Congrats to Mizzou

for getting DGB. I think he's one of those franchise WR type players. And unlike Bama, you guys will use your "once-every-ten years" WR to the fullest.

I'll be curious if Mizzou's offense can thrive in the world of boring...I mean land of suffocating defense

Arkansas is doing fine. And Missouri has a larger population pool to pull from...if they can continue getting the in-state talent.

Talent isn't the problem its can they compete and win SEC championships something they've not done since the 60's

*shrug* I think they'll have to really try and recruit and upgrade their defensive players to do that. But I think they'll surpass Arkansas to be honest.

On paper they are set up to be better than Arkansas with having KC/STL in there state but again aside from a couple division titles what has Pinkel done? I must say that I do like the state of the program heading into year one of the SEC they could be third best behind Georgia/South Carolina in the east.

No offense, but I think they could be ahead of Georgia and USC. I wasn't impressed with either one of them last year.

Georgia no but South Carolina the fact they won games after Lattimore got hurt was impressive. I thought the Gamecocks would be in the national title chase both their losses game to SEC West foes (Auburn 16-13 and @ #7 Arkansas 44-28). Lattimore got hurt in the Mississippi State game when they were 6-1 and finished 11-2, I don't disagree they were beatable.

I agree that USC was better. But I still think MU is going to due just fine in that division in the future. Much better than A&M will in theirs.

I think that Mizzou will do fine in the east. But I don't see them surpassing Arkansas any time soon. Mizzou is going to have their hands full playing Arkansas,Georgia,Florida,South Carolina, and Texas A&M every year. Not to mention that Vandy is much improved and Tennecheat won't stay down forever.

Well, since the Big XII is full of powder puffs, I'm sure Mizzou will flop then. We all know that the worst team in the SEC could defeat any other team in the nation on a bad day.  Forgive me for insulting the SEC's competitiveness. ::)

Oh,come on CP thats not fair and you know it. I wasn't taking shots at the Big12. But I do think that the overall depth of the SEC is better than every other conference. What I mean by depth is not necessarily in the wins and losses. What I mean by depth is the overall talent of its worst teams. Ole Miss and Tennessee are full of 3 and 4 stars atheletes. It was coaching that failed them. If you compare recruiting rankings of Kansas and Ole Miss. Both conferences worst teams. Ole Miss "should" be a heck of a lot better than Kansas. Just because of their overall depth of talent. Thats what I think that Mizzou will have a hard time dealing with.

Mizzou annually rolled schools like Illinois that fills up on that same amount of talent(3-4*'s). And if they continue upgrading their recruiting(obviously they are), then it'll be even easier.

I honestly am not worried about it. I understand SEC fans will not acknowledge anyone else has a deep conference, so I'm not really going to get into that. I believe the SEC has the best talent pool of defensive linemen I've ever remembered seeing, and that's where they are different than everyone else.

No. Both ADs of Arkansas and Mizzou want it to become a rivalry game and are working with the SEC to make it so. Their is talk of playing the game in Kansas City when Mizzou is the home team and in Little Rock when Arkansas is the home team. This is why a lot of people suspect that the SEC will move to a 9 game schedule after next season.

MU has had arleast 10 wins in the last 5 seasons.  Explain to me how Arkansas is ahead of MU?

Having a padded schedule with the likes of Colorado,Iowa st.,Kansas,Kansas st.,and Illionis. Plus 3 more cream puffs. Shouldn't be that hard. Mizzou gets to 10 wins just by going 2-3 over the next 5 games. Good luck on trying to have that record against the SEC east.

How is that any different than having ole miss, miss st, vandy, kentucky, tenn and up until last year u could have added auburn to that.  I like how you disregard the fact the MU does beat the big boys like Nebraska, UT, OU. MU has been closer to playing in a BCS national championship than Arky. Don't forget about the cotton bowl beat down.  Arky fans need to realize MU is on the same level they are.

I don't mean disrespect to Hawg, because I honestly think he's a great poster. But Arkansas fans in general have always put themselves on par with the best teams in the country, historically. In fact, this sentiment was on display during the DGB recruitment when they thought they were getting him.

You'll see how it's different in a few months. I left off MU accomplishments because I didn't feel that I needed to add them. But ya know what? Congratulations on winning at least 2 games per year against the upper half of the Big12.

Please forgive me. I didn't remember seeing Mizzou in the top 10 this year or last. And no. We have not forgotten that ya'll beat us in the Cotton bowl.

Their is no doubt that the Hawgs really wanted DGB. But in the end. I guess he felt like playing for Mizzou and being the MVP of the Music City bowl was more important.  ;D

Yeah we will see Hawg.  MU program is alot farther along than you realize.  Being the the east is perfect for the Tigers.  Georgia is not that impressive and is at home.  SC is the team to beat which is at SC so I expect the tigers to when there.  Alabama is the only other guaranteed loss on the schedule.  Every other game is winnable.  I expect the tigers to be between 10-2 to 8-4.

Oh, I'm just giving crap. I actually think that Mizzou should be loaded next season. I beleive ya'll return most of your starters from this season. The one thing that could wreck your season,is the fact that every program ya'll will face,Mizzou hasn't played before or at least not in a while.

Arkansas probably is the most recent SEC team Mizzou has played right? The Tigers usually don't go out of there way to schedule tough in the non-conference and the Cotton is the biggest bowl I think they've played under Pinkel, meaning they haven't played many SEC teams. Ok, I made the comment and looked it up and the Tigers played Arky in the 2003 Independence Bowl (lost 27-14) and won the 2008 Cotton Bowl 38-7 in addition they played South Carolina in the '05 Independence Bowl.
