These two teams are very evenly matched. The game is in Lawerence, however, so I expect KU to be up by 15 points with two K-State starters on the bench with multiple fouls, about 5 minutes into the game.

The second installment of the sunflower showdown happens in Manhattan tonight.    The Wildcats (or is it Dobermans?) didn't shoot a single free throw in the 2nd half on Saturday against Texas ( the Longhorns had  28 attempts).   While those numbers seem very unbalanced, if you watched the game, Texas was blowing by KSU players and KSU was just too slow to react which forced them to keep fouling.    Maybe the cats were looking ahead to tonights game because you normally see much better defense from Frank Martin's teams.

Here's hoping to a good game between these "very evenly matched" teams.    Both teams can claim a revenge factor tonight.

Sunflower game is on tonight?  Sweet...my wife can't stand looking at Frank Martin after watching CU-KSU games last season.

ESPN sure does Frank no favors.  Every time the put a still of KSU on the screen it is Frank with some wild mad look. With KU it is some reasonable shot of a player.
I thought the Hawks played a pretty good game.

ESPN did a little bit of that with Embree when he was screaming at the Pac-12 refs.

Frank Martin is quite similar to Bo Pelini in their demeanor on the sidelines/bench area.

Martin says it was men against kids.  :(  I would be hopping mad if my coach verbalized these kind of thoughts.  My god, his guys played as hard as they could and dont deserve such a slap. IMHO
However I know he loves his kids.

You can listen to the news conference if you like, but the post is mainly to share the comments.

I like Frank.   I think he's a really good coach.   I'm sure he says some of these things to get his team fired up for the next game.    Obviously a six point win doesn't scream "men vs. kids", but K-state scored only 18 points in the first half  ( a nine minute scoreless stretch) and had a six minute scoreless stretch in the 2nd half.   Don't get me wrong.  I'll give credit to KSU  players where credit's due.  That pregame dance was outstanding.

Pelini got blasted for saying he felt NU was better than South Carolina, and Martin is getting blasted for his "men vs. kids" comment.

I went to the Evansville-Creighton game tonight and was stunned at how K-State undressed the Tigers in CoMo tonight. This should punch the 'Cats ticket for the dance, tough week for Mizzou with "that" road game on Saturday.
