Frank Martin's Dobermans
« on: December 28, 2011, 04:35:34 PM »
The 'Cats are 10-1, and Champions of the Diamondhead Classic. Their only loss was a bad one in double-overtime against West Virginia.

K-State starts conference play @Kansas, v. Missouri and v. Baylor. Fortunately, the weakest of those three teams is the one played on the road, while students are still out.

I'm very upset that the sunflower showdown is not on national TV.   There are only 6 KU  games all  year that I won't be able to pick up on the west coast and a meeting of ranked teams has to be one of them.    I'll have to tune in online I guess.

These two teams are very evenly matched. The game is in Lawerence, however, so I expect KU to be up by 15 points with two K-State starters on the bench with multiple fouls, about 5 minutes into the game.

Hmmm,   No.

KSU has no answer for Thomas Robinson.   To be sure though, it's a rebuilding year for KU and the Jayhawks have a depleted roster compared to most years.

I was surprised to see that the game isn't on ESPN2 or U?

I think another Big XII game  (ISU-UT) is on ESPNU.

You don't often see a Frank Martin team so badly out-rebounded. KU dominated last night.

Hopefully Self will show them lots of tape from the Valentine's day massacre before we meet again on Feb. 13th.    Good luck on Saturday.

I can see why K-State is usually ready to play. I have never listened to a presser by Martin before and I was impressed. http://www2.kusports.com/videos/sets/2012/jan/04/ku-vs-kansas-state/

I expected a KU win...but I didn't expect the blowout.

Dobermans bounce back and attack undefeated Mizzou in the Octagon of Doom. 75-59 Wildcats!

Back-to-back losses to Baylor (great game against a very good team) and OU for the Wildcats.

It's tough to win conference road games. OU's big man had a break out game and was dropping 12- to 15-footers all over the place. :(

Texas is KU's next opponent as well.   I have a feeling that it may not be a very fun week for the Longhorns.

We are going through our gauntlet right now. It gets easier after the next few games.

I was surprised to find out that the Dobermans' last win in Stillwater was 19 years ago.

Out-rebounded OSU 50-29, with 22 offensive boards. Held them under 35% FG. K. Page was 1-for-9 from 3.

That's Doberman ball.

It's bad enough to lose to a bad team on the road, there's some level of acceptance.

Losing to a bad team at home is unacceptable.
