Nebrasketball
« on: January 19, 2011, 01:38:11 AM »
Here we are on January 19, 2011 and no thread on what has to be one of the surpises of the conference season. I fully admit that I've been skeptical of Doc but they have played well this season and last week on the road was evidence of this.

Nebraska 79 Colorado 67, Buffs missed alot of open shots but the Huskers played good defense and made needed plays. Colorado will be alright going forward.

Buff fans are already fired up for the Huskers in Boulder.  If we can't meet on the gridiron, let's meet on the hardwood instead!

NU is a good team this season IMO...you should have won at the Phog earlier in B12 play.

Don't forget to give the meth-heads from Columbia hell before you move to the Big Ten.

the team is resilient unlike last year when they would fold like a cheap tent.

Jeter is a beast.

Hopefully we can grab a win down in Lubbock and get to 3-2 in conference play and then take a week off and welcome the Aggies to the BOB!!

You could tell this was a different team from last year at about the 3 minute mark.  CU had just pulled it back to 9 and was looking like it could come down to the wire, and last year the team would have sat around and let them come back.  Instead Richardson and Jeter turned it on and pulled away down the stretch with a few key fast breaks.

I don't care but I'd leave it up to bigger Nebrasketball fans than myself.

Very fun game yesterday. Our defense is downright nasty at times.

Nebraska is amongst the tops in the nation in ppg given up. The only teams ahead are small schools.

Having jumped the bandwagon, I'm not sure who to pull for in tonight's game. My guess is that Doc is worth 8 points over Frank.

It's no secret that NU is playing good basketball this season.  Looking ahead to the Big Ten, how many of those defensive stalwarts will return next seeason?

That will be the last meaningful meeting between Texas and Nebraska.   And you guys kind of "owe them one".      That being said, it will take a heck of a game by the Huskers and an off night by the Longhorns.

They play pretty well at home and have not lost there yet this season.     Well, at least until this coming Saturday.

If not for the 3 point game in Lawrence, I would say the game this Saturday has 'trap game' written all over it.  Nebraska is very, very tough at home though.  It could be a really good game.  I still expect KU to win, but not necessarily by a lot.

Agreed.    The Saturday-Monday games are always tough and it would have been a trap game right before KU plays MU had it not been for the close game in Lawrence.   I think Nebraska has KU's attention now and I'd be surpised if the Jayhawks dont win by double digits.

I'm hopeful the atrocity in Aggieville focused our guys. That being said, KU will want to show the game in Lawrence was a fluke...and they will.

Nebraska would have won in Manhattan if Diaz hadn't been out of the country until just before tipoff.
