I'd love to see Kansas St, Nebraska, Baylor and Florida in the final 4 at Madison Square Garden.

Sorry friend but Husker hoops this year (and the promises of Doc Sadler) have left me going WTF? They have the smallest line-up but can't shot, play great D but at the end of the day it just makes me cringe. Baseline to baseline is more like yawn to yawn at the Bob. I didn't say I'd not support their run I just wont watch.

San Diego State beat Weber State. That means if K-State advances, they'll play in San Diego on the 20th.

Nebraska falls at New Mexico 83-71.

Huskers just got too worn out down the stretch, much like I thought they would.  I'd still say that an 18-13 season with a .500 record in the Big 12 with the smallest team in the entire country is an accomplishment that they should be proud of.  Looking at some of the earlier results, the Huskers were so close to 21, 22 wins its kind of frustrating, but that's basketball for you.  Hopefully with the influx of some size next season (a couple guys bigger than 6'9) and tons of experience at the 1-3 spots coming back, the Huskers can take the next step.

Good luck to the rest of the Big 12 in postseason games!

I don't see anybody over 6'9" on Nebraska's 2009 Commitment List. What players are involved in this influx of size?

Brandon Ubel out of Kansas City is 6'9''.
Brian Diaz (already on the roster--red-shirted after joining team in January) is 6'11''.
Christopher Niemann (already on the roster--had to sit out the year) is 6'11'', 265 lbs.
Another German kid (from same team as Niemann, might have to sit out the year) is 6'10''.

Also had ESPN Top 100 prospect Vander Joaquim committed and signed, but he will have to go JUCO, who is 6'11''.

Any more questions?  ;)

No need to get defensive. There's no one listed on Rivals commitment list above 6'9". Good luck with that group.

So when do the excuses stop? Next season? Not to be mean but my friends who live and die with Sadler have defended him to the death where I'm waiting for the jump that is suppose to occur. This season Doc got alot of the mini Huskers so we'll see what occurs next season but I want to see Sadler match his talking with some action.

or else what?

I really don't think NU will be able to lure a proven top BB coach anytime soon so NU has to keep taking a chance on Sadler and give him some time.  But then I'll admit, I don't follow basketball very closely at all.  It just seems like to me in basketball, you only have to recruit a few really good players to have a good team.

I wasn't getting defensive.  Sadler signs a lot of "off the chart" type of players......so I'm not sure what Rivals has listed.

EDIT: I looked at what Rivals had.  Ubel is 6'9.  Standhardinger was listed at 6'10  in the press release, but 6'8 on Rivals.  Diaz and Niemann are both already on the Husker roster and are both 6'11.

He has a better first 3 years than any coach in NU hoops history.  What's the problem?

Do you think Doc's redshirt program is a way of buying himself more time?

K-State had a free throw to tie with 9 seconds left that missed, Ill. St. made one free throw, K-State scored on an offensive rebound with 6 seconds left to tie the game at 73. We're going to overtime.

If K-State was shooting any better than 56% from the FT line, this game would be over.

Jacob Pullen scores his 29th and 30th points of the game with 14 seconds left in OT to pull the 'Cats ahead by one. Ron Anderson adds a free throw and Pullen scores another deuce at the end, and K-State wins 83-79.

K-State will play San Diego State on the road on Friday night.

NU hoops history is not quite as bleak as KSU's football history pre-97.

I think NU needs to stick with Sadler for awhile.  We don't have to give him as much time as we gave Danny Nee, but we don't want a revolving door either.  Promises are usually only made to keep the mob at bay.   Nebraska is known for football, so I think we can be patient with our basketball team until Sadler can get it built.

I don't think Doc is using the redshirt program to buy himself time per se.  I can see your point though.  Honestly though, does it work in football?  Coaches can't say, well I got these 20 redshirt kids here give me a few more years.  I definitely see your point, but I don't think that is how things work.  I honestly think he is using the redshirts to build depth and stabilize the roster so he can have a somewhat reliable recruitment number that he hasn't had yet.

As for NU Hoops history, just because it's not filled with NCAA Sweet 16 appearances (is KSU's?) and Big (8) 12 titles, doesn't mean it hasn't been around.  Has KSU ever been a #3 seed? Nebraska has.
