Apparently LSU was never really a player, since he listed Kansas State as his second choice. I would have liked to see what he could do in purple & gold, but failing that I would have liked to see him play for his home state.

But it must be said, great pickup up for the Vols! They may actually make some noise in 2009!

 :)

KSU comes in "a close second". Same as Walter Payton, Ladanian Tomilinson, and Vince Young. Unfortunately, close doesn't count in recruiting.

I didn't realize KSU was 2nd for VY.  That's a big loss!  He could have won KSU a NC as long as Snyder was still the coach (and not Ron Prince.)

Young was committed to K-State and made a signing day switch.

Yeah, I don't remember that at all....?  That would've been crazy.

I was wrong. Young came down to choosing between the schools. Another second place in the recruiting race for KSU.

Wasn't Snyder the coach in 2005?  I thought Prince was in his 3rd season last year.

Prince was coach for 2006, 07, and 08. If VY was here through 2005, perhaps we wouldn't have gone through the interim coach. :)

Did Sproles graduate in 2003?

KSU seemed to always have a strong defense under Snyder.  I don't think it was possible for Sproles and VY in the same backfield, but could you imagine?

Solich was finishing 2nd place way too many times so it led to his firing.  Nu started winning some of those recruits when Callahan came, but for the wrong reason.  I think Pelini has managed to work the best of both worlds like Osborne.  He didn't always have the top recruits, but he had guys that would kill to be there and played like it.

That's why Brown and Oku didn't seem like very good picks for NU when we already have Burkhead.

Well, Chris Harper transferred to K-State last year, and will be on the field on 2010.

It sounds like Arthur Brown is done with Miami and looking for a new place to play. K-State should be the front-runner in A. Brown's latest recruitment.

Here we go again...

Brown has done much at all at Miami yet.  I have a feeling that'll be the story after his college career is over...major bust.

Bryce Brown is a different story.

Multiple sources now reporting Arthur Brown to K-State, including his manager.

His manager?  LOL...

He's only had 2 years, but he hasn't lived up to his hype yet.

He hasn't performed as the #1 recruit in the country, no doubt. I still think he's an outstanding athlete, and likely a better football player than most on the K-State roster. I hope he's able to assimilate and be productive.

Lynch,

Arthur Brown was like #23 overall as a recruit.  It was Bryce who was #1.  AB was the #2 linebacker in his class according to rivals anyway.

Perhaps his interest in a change in scenery is indicative of changes within the person, as well.

If Miami wasn't cutting it for him, perhaps he's more focused on football now than the bright lights of the city.

Or more likely, he wasn't getting the playing time at Miami that he wanted, so he's transferring to a school close to his home where he can get more playing time.

I'll take it.... there are a hundred other FBS schools that he could get playing time at, also.
