After what I've read this afternoon, I might change my percentages.... but I'll keep that to myself. ;)

I'll say it again...(even with rumors of NU being in the picture)....

He's a violation waiting to happen.  Need to be VERY careful with him and his agent.

Talented?  VERY

Is there any concern about KU signing two of Butler's players this year? I believe at least one of them falsely claimed to have an offer from Miami-U.

I"m sure as long as the Universities aren't paying Butler and if Brown cuts ties with Butler after he enrolls, then I don't see any violations.

It seems Butler wants Brown to go to the CFL so he can become his agent and keep getting money off of him while he's able to play.  If Brown goes to college, Butler's entrepreneurship is taking a big hit.

I have a feeling Brown might get screwed around by Butler pretty bad before it's all said and done.  I see Butler as the "Don King" of recruiting.

Butler reported to Rivals that the CFL stuff was bogus.

I think Butler began this endeavor with the motive to increase exposure for local kids. He felt he didn't get that as a HS player, and that's why he ended up playing D-II ball. Eventually, he was fortunate enough to latch on to two super-star caliber athletes in the Brown brothers and some other high profile prospects.

I think he's fulfilling his original purpose, but now he's ready to cash in by become an agent to these players when they're ready to go pro. I'm not sure if that's possible, however. I believe the NFL passed a rule that you must have a J.D. to represent athletes.

OU got a commitment from Jayden Bird. He works with Butler.

Rumor is that Miami has rescinded the scholarship offer to Brown.

I can see him ending up in Oregon for some reason.  Another part of me thinks KState under Snyder might be the best for him.

What I understand is that Miami has given Brown a deadline. Either way, I don't think Brian Butler will like being told what to do, and it's probably the end for Miami.

Another possibility is that Miami saw the writing on the wall and gave themselves an out for losing a commitment by the #1 player in the country.

If it's down to Oregon and K-State, I'd give Oregon a 55-60% chance.

yeah, he's still listed by rivals as committed.  I didn't realize his commitment was 2/23/08.  That's almost a year ago and Miami has no better shot landing him than they did a year ago.

Without Butler in the picture, I am sure Brown would have signed with Miami on signing day and not made as much of a spectacle of it.

If Miami actually rescinds Bryce's scholarship, does Arthur become disgruntled with the coaching staff?

Whoever gets Bryce will need to set him down and discuss with him who is running the show, and it's not him or Butler.

As it stands right now,

Butler says Bryce is still committed to Miami.  However, Miami says they rescinded the offer.

Bryce is currently living with his uncle in Omaha.

Strangely, Oku (#1 all-purpose back) is living in Lincoln.

I have heard the NU's coaches really aren't in the pursuit of either back despite their rankings by rivals and being in their backyard.

I think before this is over, Butler will have messed things up for two very talented prospects.   I think most people who follow recruiting have already lost interest in these two and are looking ahead to next year's class.

NU is not after any of the RBs.  Apparently, Pelini wants nothing to do with them.

Pelini is more than satisfied with Burkhead, and Brown is an NCAA violation waiting to happen.

I'll bet money that Brown never becomes a star in college football.  He'll be alienated by his teammates the second he steps on campus.

he might have trouble getting anyone to block for him.  That's too bad because he got screwed around by the wrong person.  I can see him ending up playing ball in Canada for his career.

That is really quite odd having both Oku and Brown going to UTenn.

Do they both have the same "advisor"?  That sounds fishy.  I wonder what deals were worked out.

I don't know, but the last thing he said to the media almost makes me glad he went to Tennessee and not KSU.  "The next time I talk to ya'all is when I'm up for the Heisman."  Huh?  Sure, he's going to be a great running back, but that's pretty arrogant if you ask me.  Good luck to him anyway.  He's still a Kansan, I won't root against him.

Bryce is a tremendous athlete. I hope he put as much of his decision in the hands of God as he says he did. It seems an unusual choice over some of his other suitors, but I hope he does well there.

LM, you should be glad he didn't want to go to KSU.  Yes, he's talented.  But he's also an egotistical individual.  Like I stated earlier, I'd bet on him never fulfilling the hype around him (and the same goes for his brother).

I'm glad Pelini wanted no part in him.

Egotistical, I agree with, but I'd still like to have his talent playing for my team.
I thought it was interesting that he included position coach and strength and conditioning coach as his top two priorities in the recruiting process. I'm sure those are big concerns for all recruits, but I think it points to being mostly concerned with preparation for a pro football career over winning, academic fit, or even just a social fit.

Wow, check this out....

4life, I think you're dead-on right (for a change  ;D).  If I could buy this kid for what he thinks he's worth and sell him for what I think he's worth...oh man.

Lynch, I hear ya man, the talent is definitely there but personally, I want guys at KSU that are playing for the name on the FRONT of their shirt.

You don't have to wish him harm. but I had no problems cheering against Robert Meachum and Gerald Jones when they committed to UTenn.  :P Okie or not, they burned a lot of bridges with how they handled the in-state schools.
