Really? Don't get me wrong I think Clay has all the tools to be a great running back but I think Roy Finch might be a bit better. That should be an epic battle for the starting roll next year.
Honestly, I think Jonathon Miller wins it next year. He'll likely take a year to get back to normal and back into the groove of things, then take off when Madu/Murray leave this year.

I do have a bit of bias towards JMills though. I talk to his dad every now and then online and he catches me up on how JMills is doing. The kid was raised right btw, he works hard in the classroom and is a good kid.

Tom O. sure wanted his Orange Bowl win, now didn't he?

I'll take him, and the wins that come with him.

You're probably trying to talk about the Fiesta Bowl win against UF, in which Nebraska won 62-24.  A game in which NU did not need LP.

Still, as I'm sure you know, there are huge differences.  Tom Osborne knew LP for 3+ years.  He had a relationship that was built with LP, and he felt an obligation to do his best to lead LP away from his thuggish ways.  That attempt failed, obviously.

Snyder does know have any sort of relationship with Masoli.  What he knows of Masoli is his thuggish past that led to him getting booted from Oregon.  Osborne gave LP a second chance, Masoli has already had his second chance.

Nice try, though.

Masoli's theft doesn't make him any sort of thug compared to Phillips bouncing coeds around by their head.

It's always easy to see the "second chance" and the rehabilitation, when they're one of you're own.

I'm sure it will make you feel better that Masoli is likely to go to Mississippi.

You don't know about the rest of Masoli's past, do you?

In high school, he plead guilty to ROBBERIES (not just one, multiple), and spent time locked up behind bars.  He would target people at isolated areas of a local mall and bus stops and ROB them of their belongings.

He was kicked out of high school, kicked out of college, yet you want him as your QB?  Hell no.  This isn't about Lawrence Philips, although I'm sure you'd love it to be.  This is about Masoli being a thug and it not being worth signing him as your next QB.

I am shocked Snyder is even considering him if that is all true.

He "probably" isn't.  Internet rumors are great though, aren't they?  Even the media uses them as "sources" now...lol.

4life, I don't know much about Masoli's past and am not sure how you are privy to his juvenile record which is sealed, but I won't say you're wrong.  He's definitely been in some trouble.  However, he was not "kicked out of college" as he is currently working to get his Masters Degree....pretty sure you have to graduate to get that.  Just saying.  BTW, I don't want him here, but if Bill Snyder thinks he can keep him out of trouble for 5 months and chooses to take the risk, I will trust his judgment I guess.

No one is privy to his criminal record when he was in high school, but he has admitted to being guilty of robberies.  There are some details about the robberies.  It's the reason he was kicked off his high school football team.

And yes, Oregon ran him off their team as well.  And it takes a lot for Oregon and Bellotti to do that.

Juvenile court records are closed, but media accounts and a source close to the school confirmed that Masoli was one of several Serra football players arrested in June 2005, and subsequently expelled, for targeting individuals at San Mateo’s Hillsdale Mall and isolated bus stops in the area, muscling them for money.

A respected student and a team captain, Masoli pleaded guilty to robbery, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Citing California student-privacy laws, Serra football coach Patrick Walsh wouldn’t discuss specifics about Masoli’s involvement with the crimes but did say it had a tremendous effect on the school and the football team.

“Very shocking,” said Walsh, now in his ninth season as the coach at the private, all-boys Catholic school. “It was very difficult on all of us. He was an all-league quarterback, and he just got caught up in something he shouldn’t have.”

Bryce Brown is appealing UTenn's decision.
He will be enrolled at K-State this fall, scholarship or not.
NCAA is visiting Brown to discuss matters related to recruitment and Lane Kiffin.
