Honest question: CU and KSU 09 classes

Might be time to put the pedal to the metal guys?

What are the stories with these classes?

It wasn't much different last year at this point of the recruiting class.  I have read that there are at least two silent commits for CU from either 4* or 5* players.

I think Bill Snyder's staff is incredibly active at this point. They've done a lot to reaffirm commitments previously made to K-State. I think we just had a big, big weekend of visitors.

Never trust a silent commit.

Do you still think that?  Did any commits come from that weekend?

KSU's class is currently ranked 99th by Rivals.  2.25 star average, only 8 commits.

Better get rolling in a hurry.

I finally updated my 2009 CU Recuriting class thread.  At least several 4* WRs besides the one that gave CU an oral is high on the Buffs.

Who thought that would be Bill Snyder?  I guess he's reaping what he sowed at KSU.  ;D

Snyder and staff are still hard at work, at this point.

It just means that many people feel Snyder left the program in bad shape, and it only got worse, and now he is stuck with (trying) fixing it.

Which recruits have committed under Snyder?  Any at all?  I don't doubt that Snyder is TRYING, but there has to be a lot of concern over the lack of interest and 101st ranking?

It's not going to be easy for Snyder, that is for sure.  It's hard to get into the recruiting game after the season is already over.  Prince really didn't leave Snyder with much.  It won't be as easy for KSU to recruit Juco's either since many other schools have picked up on the top Juco recruits during Snyder's absence.  Snyder will need the entire month of January just to field a class of kids that are at the FBS level.

I wonder why Oregon, UCLA, and Washington didn't offer Nuckols.

I believe I recall Nuckols saying that he did prefer cooler weather and he was pointing out Eugene and Boulder.  If Oregon didn't offer him, I'd be puzzled myself.  I have no idea why Arizona State was on that list if that was what Nuckols wanted.

The last two weekends have been big for K-State. Last weekend yielded a lot of commitments. This last weekend had a handful of big-time recruits.

One commitment to come out of this most recent weekend was a small, speedy back from Jenks.

I don't mean to dog on KSU, but according to scout.com, KSU only signed one guy that is better than 2*'s.

And he is the #88 S in the nation with 3*'s.

Though, I did only count two Juco's, so all is not lost.  But it looks like KSU will have to recruit Juco pretty heavily the next couple recruiting years or they will have to prepare to suffer for awhile.  The rebuilding project is going to take some time, if at all.

ISU signed 5 3*'s and another that is a Juco and a soft commit.

Both as well as Colorado are being out recruited by Baylor according to the star gazers.  That doesn't bode well for the North at all.

According to Rivals.com, Kansas State signed 11 3* prospects today.

Overall, it's not a very wow-ing class. It's tough to come from behind in this day of year-round recruiting.

I think the best player K-State signed today is probably a 2* rated DE, Meshack Williams. He's a JC placement that had big interest from big name schools.

The biggest newcomer to next year's team will be a signee from last year, ATH Daniel Thomas.

The staff came close, but couldn't close on any of the highly-ranked QB recruits. One 4*-rated commit signed with someone else. One 4* CU commitment sounded set to sign with K-State, but stayed with CU.

Nothing to get thrilled about with this class, but I believe they have the best set of coaches to work with in the division. We'll see where they end up.

CU got much needed depth, size, and talent at WR and DL.  CU only has one less 4* player than NU and a couple of those got away from CU today.  CU's class is #48 simply because a few 2* players are underrated and there is only 19 signees.

Whoever starts at QB will have much more weapons to work with than last year for certain.

You can if you like. It's your opinion. I don't believe there's a staff whose resumes stack up to K-State's... and K-State has one more position to fill.
