NU blew out KSU.

There's no argument at this point of the season.  Using any logic, NU has looked better than KSU.

May that change as the season progresses?  Sure, but for now, there's no logical way of arguing that KSU is as good as NU...not after that blowout loss.

The 'Cats gained their first conference win of the season in overtime @Colorado.

K-State played their best all-around game of the season, at least in my estimation, in beating Missouri at home.

Good win for KSU.  Seems MU might be an inconsistent team on the road.

As is K-State... as is Iowa State (loss @ CU?)... as is Nebraska...

You might want to rethink that statement.  2 road wins in a row.

I think Texas is a little bit overrated, but that's just me.

But, credit to K-State.  They are putting it together.

You might want to rethink that statement.  2 huge road wins in a row. wow!

I guess if there's one thing K-State teams know how to do, it's beat Texas.

I believe Denis Clemente's 44 points ties the Big 12 single game record set last season by Michael Beasley.

Here's a neat video that shows how Cartier Martin and Fred Brown both delivered game-winning threes from nearly the same spot on the floor in Austin.

'Cats win four in a row to get to 0.500 in the conference.

The Wildcats took their game on the road again, got bogged down in their opponents style and still pulled out a win. Frank's boys have won 5 in a row. 65-60 KSU over ATM.

Lunardi has K-State in his latest bracketology, joining Oklahoma, Kansas, Mizzou, and Texas.  Gotta keep winning though...I think we're in at 11-5 or 10-6 with a tourney win in KC.  9-7 and we don't deserve to be there anyway.

11 total wins = NCAA berth.

10-6 has gotten every Big 12 team in, except KSU in 2007. Even though State finished fourth AND beat #5 TTU in the conference tourney.

That's a little upsetting considering NU has an identical conference record including a win over KSU.  The non-con losses for NU are really hurting them right now though, so I can see it.

I can understand where you're coming from, mpalmer.  I think NU is definately on the bubble with some good chances of playing their way in as well.  State is not a shoe-in by any means.  I think a win over KU on Saturday is a must...no small task.

KSU and NU are nearly identical in RPI. Neither has a good non-con win. Both claim Texas as their best win. They're really very similar at this point. I think being there recently helps K-State's perception.

I'll add that one difference between Nebraska and K-State's resumes is bad losses. Nebraska has one stinker that's far worse than any loss by the 'Cats.

Which is very true, and I thought I said that but I must've left it out.  In the end though, when teams have played head-to-head and their RPI's are very close, that win over the other team should weigh more heavily.  We are identical in RPI DESPITE multiple bad RPI losses on our resume.  That says a lot more to me, but I'm not on the NCAA committee.

Well, I thought TTech might be a trap game for KSU, but it wasn't.  Tech scored a bunch of 3's against the end of the bench in the final four minutes.  State was up 29 at that point.  Final score 85-73.  I know they were subs for us, but you still have to get out there and get a hand up.

This game certainly had a lot of people around the Wildcat program concerned. When you're on a roll and a struggling team comes into your house just before you play your in-state rival at home, you have to guard against a letdown.

The 'Cats came out and jumped all over the Raiders. State got up by 26 in a hurry and kept the lead between 19 and 26 through most of the game. K-State scored about 3 points in the final 5 minutes, while Tech poured in some points. This game wasn't as close as the final 12-point margin.
