Emory Blake is visiting Auburn.  It's down to Tech, CU, and Auburn.  He says he really likes Colorado because he was told he can get early playing time.  It sounds like that is the schtick Hawkins is using to get these guys.

He's concerned about Tech now because of all the rumors that Leach will leave when the right job offers.  I think with Leach interviewing with Washington made him reconsider and look for a program that has a coach who intends on staying there awhile.

If Leach can convince him he will stay for his entire college career, I can see him recommitting to Tech.  I just have a feeling that won't happen.

It looks like CU's class has grown of late.  I'll check on that stuff eventually...after my surgery.

I think CU picked up 2 2*'s and a 3* last weekend.  It seems Hawkins is in a hurry to fill out the class.  How many scholarships does CU have left to give?

I saw this article in the BDC: http://www.buffzone.com/news/2009/feb/04/future-qb-for-cu-compared-to-tebow/

Clark Evans, who will sign with CU today, has been compared to Tim Tebow.  Whether Evans fullfills that kind of comparsion remains to be seen.

Emory Blake has decided on Auburn.  Chizik has put together a pretty good class.

I think coaching stability won out on this one.  He doesn't feel Leach will be staying at Tech and Hawkins may not have a job after next year.  Chizik will likely get at least 4 years at Auburn.

Concerning Evans:
Quote
But over the past two years of his high school career, the big right-hander regularly has been compared with Florida quarterback Tim Tebow because he runs and throws equally effectively and does it with a fierce passion for winning.

I'm sorry that doesn't make him Tebow.   Any QB that is big and can run will be compared to Tebow, but I make the prediction that none that are compared will be as good.

LOL...sounds like his Granny forced him to Oregon.

EDIT: Jackson was FORCED to sign with Oregon instead of the Buffs and that has been confirmed by insiders.  Heck, even the kid cried about that.

If that is the case, that kid needs to grow up.  This is an adult decision that should be made by an adult.  If his grandma is making the decision for him, then he's got some standing up to do.

In Dan Hawkins presser, he did mention that there was ONLY 49 healthy scholarship players at the end of the 2008 season.  I didn't think CU's injury woes were that BAD!  I wish I could post that thread but that's for subscribers only.  Here's to a healthy 2009 for the Buffs.

Healthy meaning no ailments whatsoever
or
Healthy meaning they are able to play?

If there were 49 guys without any ailments, that's not bad.  How many of those players were injured while playing on the scout team.

Some players are just injury-prone.  It will be interesting to see if CU is able to stay healthier next year.  If not, I would be questioning their S&C program.  Part of the program is to help prevent injuries.  Where there are muscle imbalances and lack of flexibility, players will get injured easier.

I actually read the article on the Oregon Rivals site and I am glad we didn't get this kid...he has PRIMMA DONNA written all over him and he sounded a bit like Terrell Owens when he said to bring the popcorn.

The nice thing about Oregon is that their classes start later than most of other schools and that allows him to focus on football and then school and the academic support at Oregon is great.
