Rocky Mountain Showdown: CU versus CSU
« on: September 04, 2010, 04:36:35 AM »

That is the photo of CSU fans storming the field after CSU beat CU at Folsom Field and stomping on the CU logo at midfield.

CSU fans have paid for a plane to fly a banner that says "CU Sucks.  Go Rams!"

You gotta love this rivalry and the games have been close.  This has been just as good as the CU-NU rivalry since they moved it to Thanksgiving back in 1996.

GO BUFFS!
GO PAC-12!
CSU SUCKS!

Seriously?

Yes when it comes to the intensity and competition between those two Front Range schools.  A lot of CU fans are going to miss the CU-NU rivalry but I am grateful for the CU-CSU rivalry and it looks like having a genernation of fans from both sides growing up with this rivalry at Invesco Field is starting to bear fruit in many areas that non-Coloradoans can't see.

I was at a few stores looking for those new black CU football jerseys but couldn't find them...the same goes for the Rams.

CU too many flags so far but the Buffs get a TD!

I really like what I'm seeing and the USC transfer made up for a dropped pass by hauling that pass for a TD!

BTW BC, just so it is said, this will be the last time I post on anything "CU" in the Pac-10 board until they move.

Get off your knees and let the Pac 10 go about being the Pac 10. CU is still in the Big 12.

It was on the Mtn.  Every Big 12 fan should DEMAND that the Big 12 have its own network.  The Mtn is okay but if I was a die-hard fan of a MWC school, I'd be watching the Mtn. a lot.  Can't wait for the Pac-12 Network.

I don't care about the Big 12 anymore.  Neither does CU fans everywhere.  You can go ahead and e-mail the CU AD and ask him what conference CU really is part of right now and he will say Pac-10 not Big 12.  Once the CU big wigs signed that contract with the Pac-10, the move was FINAL.  Get that through your head.  CU is NO LONGER a BIG 12 SCHOOL...same goes for Nebraska and they are a Big Ten school.

If you saw the game, there were NO Big 12 logos on the CU uniforms.  What does that tell you?  :uglystupid2:

that they want to go to an easier conference so they may become relevant again?

Careful there...OU had to fight to beat Stanford in a bowl game recently and lost to UO on the road and got whipped by USC.  CU ain't moving to the Pac-10 so they can be good in football again...nice try.

OU also beat Oregon 2x's previous to that. 1 when UO was ranked #6 and OU was NR.

Stanford was good. OU was good. But neither team was great last year. But to put this in perspective, OU finished 5th in the south and beat a team tied for #2 team in the Pac10. I've already said the Pac10 will be good from top to bottom.

And USC from 2004, is not the same USC today. Nor will they be that way in the next decade.

You're probably right with that one.  ;) You'd probably have to move down to the WAC. :)

The MWC would have been as low as CU would go for the moment but I'm not complaining one bit.  Quite honestly, the Pac-10 and Big 12 have a different balance towards academics and athletics whereas the Pac-10 places more of a heavier focus on academics than the Big 12 does.  The Big 12 prefers to impress recruits with their facilities while Pac-10 prefers to impress recruits with their campus.  CU has had the most beautiful campus in the Big 12 for a long time and preferred to emphasize the academics and campus above athletics.

What I said is something that the Big 12 will have to work on when finding two more schools to bring back the CCG.  TCU and Houston are building up their stadiums and I suspect those two will be in the Big 12 South as OU and OSU is reunited with their former Big 8 mates.  That will make the Big 12 stable for the long term and I don't think the Big 12 will go with 10 schools for very long.

And damnit, you sucked me in to talking about CU.  :-X

Surely 27-24 can't escape your mind...don't worry OU should have the last laugh this fall.  :2funny:

Yes, the Buffs are part of that league.
