Brock Berglund hails from Valor Christian HS which is a very new HS in Highlands Ranch (SW of Denver) and he led that school to the class 3A state football championship in like that school's first or second year of varsity competition.  Valor Christian will move up to class 4A and I believe that classification sometimes is more competitive than 5A in this state.

Berglund said his respect for CU offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau and the Buffs' move to the Pac-10 were factors in deciding to head to Boulder.

"Going to the Pac-10 conference, they're going to get really good recruiting classes here in 2011 and 2012," Berglund said. "They can come in and be a real competitor."

Rivals.com rates Berglund, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect, as the No. 13 dual-threat quarterback nationally and the third-best player in the Colorado preseason top 20 of 2011.

He threw for 2,226 yards with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions last season. He also rushed for 890 yards and 14 scores.

CU's other commitments are from quarterback Nick Sherry of Petaluma, Calif., and Hutchinson Community College offensive lineman Shaun Simon.

Congrats. That should definitely help fill the void for the new coach after hawkins gets fired. hehe
