There are so many things wrong with that letter I don't know where to begin.

The one that gets me is how he says America isn't arrogant then stereotypes all Muslims as terrorists  :2funny:

To be clear, I appreciate the mans sacrifice and that of every soldier. But that doesn't make their opinion gold.

Didn't say his opinion was gold.  I would sure take his over yours though.  You say there are so many things wrong and called him a bigot, which I thrashed quickly.  So come on oh wise one, dissect his letter.  Peel the onion back and tell us where this man, in your eyes, is wrong. :coolsmiley:

to be clear he doesn't stereotype all muslims as terrorist.  he as a matter of factly says all muslim FANATICS are terrorists.  Since muslim FANATIC means, I imagine, as jihadists, I would say he is accurate in his assessment.

I'm not surprised that their actions aren't viewed as terroristic by you.  That guy in Kansas who killed the abortion doctor is a terrorist in my opinion. Just like Tim McVeigh. Just like those wackos in the woods in Michigan plotting to ice a bunch of cops. etc.

FANATICS.

Why are only the Muslim fanatics viewed as terrorists? There is a difference between a fanatic and jihadist, surely you knew this.

This comment sums it up nicely:

"Meeting leaders and sharing mutual respect from foreign countries is part of job of being President. The POTUS shows great leadership in a dignified manner when he or she greets the leaders in a customary manner that makes the foreign leaders comfortable and welcomed. I am not ashamed of the President or First Lady for meeting the Queen of England, President of India or Emperor of Japan. Was there shame when President G.W. Bush holds hands with King Saudi Arabia? Sometimes apologies are necessary when America was wrong. We can be a proud nation and still admit our faults."

We, as Americans, are part of the world.  Respecting other people's culture is something everyone should do.  Throughout history when foreign leaders visit the United States they do their best to follow our customs--why should our leaders not do the same in return? Just because George W. Bush is an arrogant, hick, jackass doesn't mean we all need to be.

Our culture is to not bow.  Everytime Obozo does something we revert back to Bush.  Luvin it!

Our culture isn't to "not bow"---bowing just isn't part of our culture.  Handshakes are the typical form of greeting in those occasions.  In some cultures, a handshake of a leader would be viewed as an insult--you are supposed to bow. What is wrong with respecting their culture? You have yet to tell me that.

In our culture, bowing puts us lower than who we are bowing to.  It signifies that some humans are greater than others.  We bow only before God.  So you want us to dismiss our traditions and beliefs as to not insult others?  We should insult ourselves so others feelings don't get hurt?  No thanks.  Bush kissing a ring and Obozo's bowing disrespects the Office of the POTUS and disrespects the citibank they are representing.

If you wish to correct me, do so.  So far you have not nor cannot.  Or are you simply saying I cannot be reformed?   Its better to have a bullet put in your head for being who you are than being dragged to a reeducation camp, IMO.  If we were made in God's image and God is who God is, are we not supposed to be who we are?  It's not that I hate that me and you or Texas\Blackshirts  disagree.  Imagine how terrible the world would be if everybody agreed on everything.  Imagine that organization if you will.  It's not that I think anyone here is unintelligent.  It is just that I think you are naive. I think Texas is foolishly optimistic in that politicians  have everyones best interests in mind.  I think Blackshirts is stubborn in a way that he is stuck in his own beliefs or stubborn that he doesn't want to admit that it was a mistake to elect Obama AND give him Congress.

My style might not jive, but I guarantee you that in 2012 if a newcomer comes out of the shadows for POTUS, you will be asking for my opinion on the matter(s).

I do not believe that electing Obama was a mistake. I also believe that thinking politicians are ONLY self-righteous is naïve. Some of them truly do some great things. All of them do some idiotic things.

I'm glad we don't all agree that would be quite boring. But, I think the insistence on I'm right you're wrong is also stupid. There's no middle ground anymore.

mpalmer...... You don't think Richard Nixon had some "good stuff" because Obama's promises on withdrawing from wars and foreign policy kind of mirrors Richard Nixon, do you?  Plus the whole czar thing I just posted about on the obamas shadow govt thread, which is very ironic.
